Dr. Melissa Beth Mitchell is a philosophy faculty member with over ten years of experience teaching Philosophical Inquiry, Critical Thinking and Composition, Logic in Practice, Moral Values and Ethical Decisions, Contemporary Moral Issues, Philosophy of Literature, Society and Values, and Business Ethics courses. She is working on articles showing the intersection between human freedom and virtue and synthesizing ancient and modern arguments against relativism. Her work draws on St. John Paul II’s Letter to Women and writings on the feminine genius, along with the work of St. Teresa of Avila, St. Therese of Little Flower, St. Teresa Benedicta (Edith Stein), and Alice von Hildebrand. She is on the Board of Directors of Love and Responsibility Inc., where she assists young adults in forming virtuous friendships and relationships and supports her husband in his work in Tanzania, Africa.
