Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

Greetings to all and may the Lord’s peace be with you. As most of you may know, before the Chinese Lunar New Year, the Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) suddenly broke out in Wuhan, China and many people have been infected by it. The coronavirus has since spread rapidly across the country and now threatens not only China, but many other countries as well. At present, many villages and even several cities have been placed on lockdown, most notably, the entire city of Wuhan, the epicenter of the coronavirus outbreak. In places where lockdowns have been initiated, there is a serious lack of basic necessities such as food, medical equipment, face masks, etc.

As the coronavirus outbreak continues to spread, Wuhan and other Chinese provinces and cities are becoming more reliant on financial and material supports from the international community and charitable organizations. The need continues to grow greater every day, and now more than ever the people of China need help from all who have it in their hearts to offer it.

We are deeply moved by the plight of our brothers and sisters affected by this outbreak. We hope that you will join us in fervent prayer for all those in China and elsewhere who are affected by the coronavirus. Furthermore, we request that during this Lenten season, you look deeply into your hearts and prayerfully consider joining your financial support with ours in a spirit of Lenten almsgiving to bring aid to those areas in China most affected by this outbreak.

It is our sincere hope that all the members of our Holy Apostles family will join with us to support our brothers and sisters in China. All our generous donations will be sent to the JinDe Charities Foundation of China, a charitable organization of the Catholic Church in China.

Over the years, this organization has made a lot of contributions to charitable projects in China. This is a trustworthy organization, which has been widely recognized and praised by the church and society for its many years of service. For more information about the JinDe Charities Foundation of China please access: www.jinde.org.

With great expectation in your generosity, by the end of Lent, we hope to raise $2,500 or more to send to the JinDe Charites for helping people in need. You can help us accomplish this goal by setting aside as little as a dollar a day, but no matter what you are able to give, it will greatly help those in need.

We would like to thank all of you in advance for your generosity. May God grant all of you His abundant blessings and always keep you in safety and peace, and may you have a blessed Lenten Season.
