Frequently Asked Questions
I can't login to Blackboard:
Make sure that you are using the Fisher's Net URL http://fishersnet.blackboard.com. Also, make sure that you are using the new user id and password that was sent to you for BLACKBOARD. Your EMAIL information and your BLACKBOARD information are different. You should have received two separate emails, each detailing different user and password information.
How do I access my courses?
When you log in to blackboard you will see all your courses for the semester in two places: in the "Courses: Quick View" and "My Courses" windows. Click on these links to take you to your course.
How do I change my password?
When you first log in to Blackboard, you should change your password from the default password that you were issued. From the welcome screen select the "personal information" link from the "Tools" menu on the left. Then, select the "change password" link.
Can I see my grades?
In Blackboard, professors have the ability to post your grades so that you can keep track of your progress in the course. However, not all professors use this functionality. If you have questions about your progress in the course, or use of this utility, contact your professor directly.
What about email addresses?
It is very important that your holyapostles.edu email address is listed in Blackboard so that you can receive timely communications from your professor and your colleagues. To update your email address in Blackboard, select the "personal information" link from the "tools" menu, then select "personal information" on the following screen. Here, you will find the email field for your account. Please note that all official school correspondence will be sent to your holyapostles.edu email account only regardless of what is listed in Blackboard.
What is the Course Catalog?
If you select the "courses" tab on the welcome screen, you will see the courses in which you are enrolled, along with a "course catalog" with links to numerous institutions. These are the institutions that are members of the Fisher's Net Consortium. While it is possible to see these courses, THEY ARE NOT AVAILABLE TO HOLY APOSTLES STUDENTS.
